What to expect

Do I need an account?
No. The preview on this page runs in your browser with no account and no tokens. A free Printcart account is needed for the full AI cutout, which runs in your dashboard and keeps your original resolution.
Will my download have a transparent background?
Download PNG saves the cutout with transparent areas. Choose White under Settings, then Download background, for an opaque white file. The checkerboard, light, dark and custom colors in the viewer are for preview only and are not added to the file. Always check the edges of your subject before use.
What is the difference between the preview and the AI cutout?
The preview separates a subject from a plain background by color, so it works best on clear subjects with defined edges and is limited to 1,600 px on the long edge. The AI cutout runs in your dashboard and is built for hair, fur, glass and low-contrast edges, at your original resolution. Neither is perfect, so review every cutout before you publish or print.
When are tokens required?
Never for the preview on this page. The AI cutout in your dashboard uses tokens from your wallet, and you see the cost and confirm it before the job starts.
Is my image uploaded?
Not from this page. The original and the preview stay in your browser. If you continue to the AI cutout, your image and settings are kept in this browser for up to an hour so they are waiting in your dashboard, and the image is uploaded only when you confirm the job there.
What images work best?
