Printcart Connect

Printcart Connect: print technology adapted to your business

It brings together a Cloud API for the product designer, pricing options, global templates, AI workflows, ready-made plugins and apps, and integrations with ecommerce platforms, MIS, ERP and accounting systems, plus custom projects built case by case.

Printcart Connect questions

What is Printcart Connect?
Printcart Connect is the layer of Printcart that adapts print technology to each business. It covers the Cloud API for the designer, pricing options, templates, AI workflows, plugins and apps, and integrations, plus custom projects for stores and print shops.
Does Printcart integrate with my ERP, MIS or accounting system?
Printcart provides an API and webhooks, and the connection to your system is built for each customer. There is no packaged ERP, MIS or accounting connector, so the work starts with a project scope.
Which plan do I need?
Projects that combine several Printcart solutions on one store run on the Printcart Advanced plan or above, and creating API keys also needs the Advanced plan. Each project is quoted for the store.
Can my own developers do the integration?
Yes. Developers can work with the Printcart REST API, webhooks and SDKs. The documentation covers authentication, the path from product to print-ready PDF, webhooks and the AI services.
What are Preset Services?
Preset Services are ready-made service packages from the Printcart services catalog, such as integration, product options setup and print preflight. Each has a defined scope and is quoted for your project.
Can I run two Printcart plugins on one store?
Each store connects one Printcart solution, because two plugins side by side would give buyers two design experiences and two order pipelines. Stores that sell several kinds of print products combine solutions in a Connect project, on the Advanced plan or above.
Are there project case studies?
Not yet. Projects are published only with the customer’s permission, so this page shows none until a customer has agreed.

Print on demand basics

New to print on demand? The guide below explains how the model works and how to start with Printcart.

One complete solution for each product niche

Each Printcart plugin and app is a complete solution for one kind of product: the product setup, the design button, pricing, orders and order sync, tuned for that niche.

A general print or POD store runs Printcart Store, the WordPress and WooCommerce plugin. A store that sells canvas prints runs Printcart Canvas. Shopify and Wix stores use the app for their platform. Each solution brings its own buyer flow, so one store connects one Printcart solution.

How the POD business model works

A POD business sells made-to-order products. The seller owns the catalog, the design experience and the customer relationship; a print partner handles production and shipping.

The buyer picks a product, personalizes it in an online designer and pays. Production starts after the order, so there is no stock to buy up front and no unsold inventory. Margins depend on product cost, shipping, fees and marketing, which is why pricing and product choice matter more than volume at the start.

Web-to-print is the technology behind this model: an online designer, rules for print areas and bleed, and files that are ready for press. Printcart provides that layer and connects it to the store you already use.

Product categories you can sell

The Printcart POD catalog lists customizable products you can add to a store, and the template library covers the product types buyers personalize most often.

Start from the catalog to see what can be customized, then open a template category to see ready-made layouts for that product type. Apparel, stationery, home and gift items, labels and stickers all have their own template categories.

Design tools: templates, cliparts and the designer

Buyers personalize a product in the Printcart online designer. Templates and cliparts give them a starting point, so they finish a design faster and the shop gets cleaner files.

Templates are editable layouts for a product type, and cliparts are vector graphics buyers drop into a design. Input fields let a buyer type a name or a message into a fixed layout, which is how personalization works at scale without a designer on call.

From design to print-ready file to production

Printcart turns each saved design into a print-ready file and keeps the order connected to it, so the print partner receives artwork that matches what the buyer approved.

  1. Order placed

A buyer customizes a product and checks out.

  2. Design saved

The design, print area and bleed are attached to the order.

  3. Print-ready file

Printcart generates a print-ready PDF and runs a preflight check.

  4. Production partner

Your chosen print shop or fulfillment partner prints the order.

  5. Delivery

The partner ships the finished product to the buyer.

Each product side carries its print area, bleed and safe zone. When an order arrives, Printcart can generate a print-ready PDF with trim and bleed boxes. Before production, a preflight check catches low resolution, missing bleed and color problems that would otherwise cost a reprint.

Printcart is the software layer. Printing and shipping are done by the print shop or fulfillment partner you work with, so choosing and managing that partner is part of the workflow.

Platform integrations

Printcart connects to the platform you already sell on, so you add customization to an existing store instead of rebuilding it.

Install the app for WordPress and WooCommerce, Shopify or Wix and add the designer to product pages. For a custom stack, use the Printcart REST API and SDKs.

Print on demand questions

What is print on demand?
Print on demand is a business model where a product is printed only after a customer orders it. The seller lists customizable products and handles the design experience and the customer, while a print partner prints and ships each order. There is no stock to buy in advance.
Do I need to hold inventory?
No. Products are produced after the order is placed, so you do not buy or store stock. You do need a print partner for production and shipping, and a product designer so buyers can personalize what they order.
How is web-to-print different from print on demand?
Web-to-print is the technology: an online designer, print rules and print-ready files. Print on demand is the business model that uses it. Many print shops use web-to-print without calling themselves POD, and many POD sellers rely on web-to-print software under the hood.
Which platforms does Printcart work with?
Printcart has apps for WordPress and WooCommerce, Shopify and Wix, and a REST API with SDKs for custom stacks. The apps page lists each app and what it does.
Does Printcart print and ship my products?
Printcart is the software layer: the designer, templates, print-ready files and order workflow. Printing and shipping are done by a print shop or fulfillment partner you work with. The tutorials explain how to find and work with printing partners.
